The Three Little kitten they washed their mittens.
And hung them up to dry.
" Oh, Mammy, look here !
" Our mittens we have washed. "



" What ! washed your mittens, you darling kittens.
" But I smell a rat close by.

" Hush, hush ! mew, mew,
" Mew, mew, mew. "  



Then all over the room, mammy cat, with a broom,
Chased the rat so nimble and spry;



The kittens ran too, and after him flew,
But none of the lot could come night;

So the rat got away, saying pertly,
" Good day,
 I am not yet quite ready to die. "

" Mew, mew, mew,
" Mew, mew, mew. "
