The Dog and His Shadow (完)

A Dog, carrying a piece of meat in his mouth, was crossing a stream on a narrow footbridge.

He happened to look into the water and there he saw his shadow, but he thought it another dog with a piece of meat larger than his.



He made a grab for the other dog's meat; but in doing so, of course, he dropped his own meat, and therefore was without any.
