There upon, the robber ran back as fast as he could to his chief, and sad:
"There is a horrible witch in the house, who brethed on me and scratched me with her long fingers.

Behind the door there stands a man with a knife, who stabbed me.

In the yard lies a black monster, who hit me with a club.

And upon the roof the judge is seated, and he called out ' Bring the rogue here ! '

So I ran away, as fast as I could. "

From that time on, the robbers dared not go near that house, and the four Bremen musicians were so pleased with it that they never wished to leave it.
